Soyuz space capsules are Russian manned spacecraft and the longest serving manned spacecraft in history. Soyuz is designed to carry 3 astronauts into low earth orbit.
It's built in three parts - the central part is called the return module and this is where the astronauts sit for launch and landing. There are three couches inside, it is extremly cramped, and this the only part of the spacecraft that comes back to earth; the other two modules are left to burn up in the earth's atmosphere.
The spherical part at the front is the orbital module. Once the crew is in orbit, the spacemen can crawl into this module to give themselves more space. All the equipment that the crew need to be comfortable on their journey is in here - the air-purefying unit, food, and the toilet.
The back part of the capsule is the service module. The electronics and the fuel tanks for the propulsion system are housed in this section.
