Down to Sunderland and the end of the use of the C2C section on the Three Rivers. Many more sculptures here and the nuts and bolts a reference to the demised shipbuilding on the River Wear. The Tree of Life sculpture is a metal and stone structure which compliments well the riverside cycleway, an area derelict for a long time until the late 1980's when it was transformed by the building of the National Glass Centre, marina housing and a campus of Sunderland University.
