The only thing missing on the Pennine Cycleway after the moors, country lanes, railways and canals is a forested section. And this is it. Wark Forest. The section is seven miles long and takes you deep into the Northumberland National Park.

Later, just short of Bellingham, the route meets with another of the signed, long distance routes, the Reivers Cycle Route, but only briefly, as they head in opposite directions, the Reivers route to the Lake District and the Pennine Cycleway to the Cheviot Hills and a finish on the Scotland - England border.
