Four miles of cycle lanes take the cycle route along the outskirts of Swansea and Lower Sketty before it turns north and heads inland through Clyne Valley Country Park. The first 30 miles of the Celtic Trail is nearly all traffic-free with just a few very short sections sharing the roads with the countryside's motorised traffic.
