Carmarthen and good sign posting.

Carmarthen is possibly the oldest town in Wales and believed to date from AD 75-77. Near the fort here is Maridunum Demetarum, one of seven surviving Roman amphitheatres in the United Kingdom. The existing castle site has been used since 1105, then destroyed by Llywelyn the Great in 1215, and rebuilt in 1223 when permission was received to wall the town, making Carmarthen the first medieval walled town in Wales. Also, and maybe bizarre and incongruous, the only pyramid to be found in the UK was built on the outskirts of Carmarthen - Abergwili Pyramidiau. You can visit.

Good signing
