The Wiltshire Cycleway
160 miles

Foldout map of 6 circular routes based on Ordnance Survey mapping and detailed direction for each route.

'Cycling along Wiltshire's quiet country lanes allows you to experience rural England at its best. Rolling hills with spectacular views, peaceful wooded river valleys and prehistoric sites, make it clear why so much of the county is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Wiltshire Cycleway allows you to enjoy the peace of cycling at your own pace, in harmony with the countryside. The route is designed to be cycled in an anti-clockwise direction and offers six circular routes, ranging from 70 to 160 miles (110 to 255km). These link with off-road and shorter cycling routes, as well as national routes developed by Sustrans (Sustainable Transport) and The National Byway. So, whether you're an energetic and experienced cyclist or you just want to explore Wiltshire at a more leisurely pace, there is something to suit all needs and abilities.

Welcoming country pubs and village shops can be found along the way and will supply all your daily needs. Many of Wiltshire's attractions and most scenic towns and villages (such as Longleat, Stourhead, Lacock and Marlborough) are accessible from the Wiltshire Cycleway, why not take a break from cycling and explore them? Away from the high profile attractions you can be sure that crowds of other cyclists will not disturb your peace; Wiltshire's magnificent countryside remains a largely undiscovered secret.

We hope that this leaflet will encourage you to visit Wiltshire and spend time enjoying its beautiful countryside by bicycle.'
