Easy - Moderate

The route over the Downs and Weald is fairly easy with only the section between Beckenham and Redhill is really testing. Gravelly Hill  is the highest point, and the steep hill before Heathfield offers a tunnel to save your legs. After that, the route is almost flat as you head past Eastbourne and on to Hastings.
