"Crookbank Cottage has old world charm and a warm welcome. Formerly known as Foulard, it is the birthplace of Millican Dalton, in 1867, the Eccentric Professor of Adventure. John Wesley also preached here when he visited Alston.

"We have at the moment one Family room with TV, PS2, DVD films and games, tea / coffee making facilities, shared modern bathroom with walk-in shower, shaving point and central heating throughout. Full English breakfast is served in wood paneled Dining Room / Guest Lounge. Ample off-road parking and secure cycle storage. Guests are welcome to enjoy our gardens and private riverside walk. It's a great area for spectacular views, and a good base for cycling."
